There are a number of different ways you can help us better the world through music. Besides purchasing music from GMP - making a cash or donation - you can help spread the word by telling the people you know about GMP. Email is a great way to do this. You can write your own message or cut and paste this one:

 

 

Promote Your Band

Appear on the front page for just $100/month! Obviously, you should create a profile for your band and upload some of your music, if you haven't done so already. But if you also want the BIG spotlight and to help charity at the same time, you can get the Featured Artist spot on the main page for a whole month, for just $100. Artists! Produce your own benefit show!

Get some great exposure, you'll do something good for the world, and it's easy! Here's how:

10 Steps To Gaining Great Exposure:

1) Select a venue in your area and contact them. Tell the club owner or booking agent that you'd like to do a benefit show for Global Music Project at their venue. Let them know they'll be donating the money you would've made to Global Music Project.org, a non-profit organization that supports artists and the discovery and preservation of music around the world. (If you know other artists interested in playing with you on the bill, you could let the venue know, or leave it up to them to suggest other acts.)

2) Contact other artists if needed. Let them know that they'll be playing for free, but potentially be receiving some great exposure.

3) Once the event is confirmed and you have a date and location, announce the event to your mailing list and make sure the other artists each do so as well. Please include our web address ("www.globalmusicproject.org") on all of the announcements. Be sure also to let us know so we can announce it on our front page!

4) As it is a benefit show, you can now submit it to various event calendars in your area - your newspaper, plus local radio and TV stations. You could even write and send out a press release re: the event to your local media (print, radio, TV, web), please include "www.globalmusicproject.org". We'll help you if you like!

5) Contact your local print publications and see if they'll create and publish a display ad for free to advertise the event. Be sure they know it's for charity and again, please include our web address ("www.globalmusicproject.org") in the ad.

6) You can also contact a local printer and see if they'll provide you with free flyers in exchange for being a sponsor of the event. You can then distribute them around town, increasing the number of people that see and know your name and who will come to the event.

7) If you know any promoters that can help you make the event a bigger success, then by all means, enlist their help! They may have a mailing list of their own with which they can send out an announcement. They also might want to invite sponsors in to sponsor the show - you know, beer/liquor companies, etc.

8) Tell everyone you know about the show and invite them there!

9) Play the show! (Hopefully you can let the crowd know the show's a benefit for Global Music Project and that they should check out the website.)

10) Make sure the booking agent and/or promoter gets us the money made from the show. They can either pay us via PayPal (here) or simply send us a check to Global Music Project, PO Box 30869, Seattle WA 98113.

That's it! It's a win-win proposition. You and other artists will receive exposure for your event on our front page and likely, free publicity and advertising in your local media publications. You'll be playing in front of a bigger crowd than usual and attract potential new fans and possibly some music industry folks to your event. And you'll help raise money for a worthy cause!
